NAT

The Japanese Language NAT-TEST is an examination that measures the Japanese language ability of students who are not native Japanese speakers. The tests are separated by difficulty (five levels) and general ability is measured in three categories: Grammar/Vocabulary, Listening and Reading Comprehension. The format of the exam and the types of questions are equivalent to those that appear on the Japanese Language Ability Test ( JLPT).

JLPT

The JLPT places importance not only on knowledge of Japanese-language vocabulary and grammar but also on the ability to use the knowledge in actual communication with written and verbal medium. In order to perform various “everyday tasks” that require language, not only language knowledge but also the ability to actually use in daily activities is much necessary.

Therefore, the JLPT measures comprehensive Japanese-language communicative competence through Language Knowledge and “Reading” & “Listening”.

TOPJ

TOPJ has 3 levels and can measure higher levels of Japanese ability than the JLPT.

The strength of TOPJ is that is hosted multiple times in a year, so you take the test to suits your schedule.

Another characteristics is that it test language ability in everyday, practical situations and your knowledge of Japanese culture and news.

JLCT

Principally this test is conducted to measure the Japanese language communication skill of a non-native Japanese people.

It has 5 levels and those are JLCT1, JLCT2, JLCT3, JLCT4, JLCT5. Further JLCT checks Japanese-language communication skill by dividing the test in 3 sections.
